Elvis V. Winans

Alvis V. Winans, 62, Topeka, died Fri., Oct. 9, 2009, at Aldersgate Village.

He was born Sept. 9, 1947, in Leavenworth, the son of Friedof and Alberta (Frazier) Winans. He attended Oskaloosa High School and Kansas State University.

Alvis was an insurance agent with Farmers Insurance Group of Companies for 28 years.

He was a member of University United Methodist Church.

Alvis was married to Mary E. Wildman on July 12, 1969, in Oskaloosa.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter: Wendi N. Winans of Blue Springs, MO; a son: Martel L. Winans of Topeka; 2 sisters: Fredonna Smith (Howard) of Gravis Mills, MO and Nedra Wolnick (Dick) of Tecumseh; 2 sisters-in-law: Judith Roark (Roger) of West Friendship, MD and Karen Trail (John) of Axtell; and lots of nieces and nephews.

A memorial of life was at 10:00 AM, Mon., Oct. 12, 2009, at University United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be private.

The family received friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, Sun., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka.

Norman Geraldine Wunder Reigier

Norma Geraldine Wunder Regier, 91, died Oct. 9, 2009, in Denver.

She was born at North Cedar Sept. 13, 1918, to Frank Fredrick and Paulina Krumrey Wunder.

She married Reuben Raymond Regier. He preceded her in death in the 1960s.

She is survived by her daughter, Rita Himmel, Littleton, Colo.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at the Olinger Woods Chapel in Golden, Colo., with interment following at Golden Cemetery.
