Valley Falls to be represented at nationals

The State Family, Career and Community Leaders of America contest was held April 4 and 5 in Wichita.  Sixteen Valley Falls students competed in six events with two entries qualifying for Nationals, bringing home nine silver and seven gold awards.
“The Valley Falls community has played a huge part in our success this year,” reports adviser Margo Ellerman.
The many project include Food Pantry, Gift of Time projects, Senior Citizen dinner, Stranger Danger awareness, communicating with peers and community, Jana’s Campaign and Teen Gender violence, Rethink your Drink, ALS Awareness, and Career Investigation interviews.
The chapter also brought home an award for the top hours donated for the Gift of Time projects and the State Student Body award.
The  National FCCLA Leadership Conference will be held July 3 to 7 in San Diego, Calif.
“Be watching for Work for Hire posters, Krispy Kreme donut sales, and  Betsy’s Cupcakes sales, and Pumping Gas at Petro on Memorial Day as fundraisers to help these four students earn their expenses,” Ellerman said.
