Brick walkways laid at church

Bricks on Broadway

Bricklayer and mason James Brown, Topeka, laid the brick walks at the Historical Shrine Church in Valley Falls April 7. The church has been relocated to Broadway Street. The brick walkways leading up to the church contain 450 bricks with names imprinted on them that either honor the living or serve as memorials to the deceased.
Helping Brown were J.R. Conser, Rosalind Jackson, Jan McKnight, and Brown’s wife, Melissa. Brown, who volunteered his work, is the son of Jim and Rose Marie Sewell Brown, Valley Falls natives.
