The Historical Shrine Church at Valley Falls took a ride in a snowstorm Monday to be relocated downtown. The building was located on Highway K-16 at Elm Street and will now rest on Broadway across the alley west of the museum. Valley Moving LLC, Wamego, has donated the move. This is the same company that moved the Bloomfield Church to Cottonwood Station several years ago. Built in 1857, the building first served the first Lutheran congregation west of the Missouri River. It later served a Presbyterian congregation and an African Methodist Episcopal congregation. The Valley Falls Historical Society acquired the property from the Lutheran synod after it was formed in 1967.
