Mortgage fee elimination could strain county budget

The potential elimination of mortgage registration fees could put a strain on the county’s budget in the upcoming year.

The Kansas State Legislature is in the process of drafting and will consider a bill that will eliminate the fee that is a part of closing costs when mortgages are taken out against a property.
