Business owners discuss expansion with commissioners

Expansions to the R Bar B Saddle Tack and Trailer business on 39th Street were discussed Monday in the commissioner meeting. Both the commissioners and a neighbor of the property, Marta Barnett, voiced their concerns with a possible expansion of the property.

Barnett spoke from a prepared statement Monday afternoon expressing frustration with the business that she says has been out of compliance since at least 2007.

The saddle business started in the late ‘90s when a conditional use permit was obtained by the owners, Russell and Dina Brown. The original business was just a saddle and boot repair shop. That business expanded several years later into a large retail western store.
