Supplying the community for 11 years
The 11th Annual Free School Supply Drive took place from 8–11 a.m. July 27 at the Kendall State Bank Community Hall in Valley Falls. Families
were lined up outside the building as early as 5 a.m. to be the first to receive school supplies and as the doors opened, a line of hundreds wrapped around the bank and down the street. The drive served 357 people which is slightly less than last year. Ronda Turner, director of the event, says that she hopes this means fewer families need their help. The Valley Falls Lions Club and the Kansas Lions Sight Foundation also brought the mobile screening unit that was located outside the building.
