Nutrition, reading topics for summer program

Children from third grade up are invited to participate in a summer nutrition and reading program to be held in Oskaloosa starting May 31.

Kansas State University Extension’s Family Nutrition Program and the Oskaloosa Public Library are teaming up for a dual program.

The four sessions will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and the first two, May 31 and June 7, will be held at the library. The June 14 and 21 sessions will be held at the United Methodist Church.

“From Seed to Table” and “Dig into Reading” will have topics on science and gardening, nutrition, cooking experiences, tasting adventures, and exploring new books.

The presenters are Debbie Hochard, food and nutrition program assistant with the extension, and Tracee Davis, children’s outreach coordinator with the library.
