Richard Chmidling Jr.

Richard Leo Chmidling Jr., 52, died Aug. 3, 2012, at Country Care living facility in Easton after a battle with cancer.He was born Oct. 9, 1959, in Nortonville, to Richard and Doris Wilcox Chmidling. They moved to Leavenworth in 1966.

He graduated from Pleasant Ridge High School in 1977 and began his career in construction working for his father. He would later work for American Roofing as well as being self-employed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas John Chmidling.

He is survived by his stepmother, Eileen Chmidling; three brothers, Tim Chmidling, Robert Chmidling and Ed Chmidling, and two sisters, Debbie Chmidling and Darlene Dean, all of Leavenworth; one stepbrother, Terry Booker, Leavenworth; and two stepsisters, Michelle Booker, Leavenworth, and Kathi Booker, Lansing.

Mr. Chmidling will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Nortonville at 10 a.m. Aug. 11.

Memorials can be made to Odyssey Hospice of Overland Park or Country Care Inc., Easton, and sent in care of the O’Trimble Funeral Home.
