Martha “JoAnn” Cook, 76, Perry, was found deceased at her home July 26, 2012.
She was born Oct. 11, 1935, in Richards, Mo., the daughter of Ernest E. and Ruby Hazel Evans Goddard. She was a 1953 graduate of Richards High School.
She worked for Key Work Clothing Company in Ft. Scott as a seamstress, and K-mart Cafeteria Grill and Packer Plastics, both in Lawrence.
She married Orville Lee Cook Feb. 28, 1954, in Rhinehart, Mo. He preceded her in death Dec. 7, 2011.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Cook and Roy Cook, both Lecompton; three daughters, Jeanette Davis, Salida, Colo., Marlette Rafferty, Lawrence, and Paulette Ogilvie, Perry; a sister, Maxine Burnett, Ft. Scott; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Cook, in November 1980 and a grandson, Blane Cook, in September 2007.
Memorial services were July 31 at the Perry American Legion. Private family burial was at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry.
