Herrig, Ledbetter are winners in Tuesday’s election

Unofficial election returns in Jefferson County Tuesday night had Wayne Ledbetter being elected county commissioner over Kyle Brown from the 2nd District and Sheriff Jeff Herrig easily defeating his challenger, David Christy, in the Republican primaries.

These were the only two contested races for county office.

Ledbetter’s tally at 9 p.m. was 548 to Brown’s 249, having won every precinct in the 2nd District.

Herrig had a tally of 1,308 votes to Christy’s 538 with 12 precincts reporting. Herrig carried every precinct.
