Tinker baseball museum to be dedicated July 22

The Joe Tinker Baseball Celebration in Muscotah will be held Sunday, July 22.

The baseball museum dedication starts at 4 p.m. followed by a ball game at Tinker Field.

Hot dogs will be served during the game followed by an ice cream social.

The museum was featured in the Vindicator in February when the community replaced its water tower and moved the old water tank to a downtown location. The round tank has been painted to look like a baseball.

Joe Tinker was born at Muscotah and played major league baseball from 1900 to 1912. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1946.
