All entries must be postmarked by Friday, Sept. 14, and should be mailed to: AAA Kansas, Public Affairs, 3545 SW 6th Street, Topeka, 66606.
On the back of the 8 ½ by 11-inch paper entry must be the child’s full name; age at time of entry; mailing address; county; a parent’s name; and contact phone number. For more information go to KDOT’s website.
Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death in the U.S. for people ages 3-34. It’s important to encourage everyone – drivers, passengers, pedestrians and bicyclists – to take extra caution every day and especially on Oct. 10, the day officially designated as Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day.
A winner from northeast Kansas in 2010 was Corissa Bandel, Oskaloosa.
