Joyce Knox

Joyce V. Knox, 88, Topeka, died June 18, 2012.

She was born Sept. 24, 1923, in Valley Falls, the daughter of John Vernon and Ethel Roberta Bedwell Ferrell. She was a graduate of Valley Falls High School.

She was employed by Santa Fe Railroad, retiring after 23 years. She later worked for Bee Line Fashions for 10 years. She also worked part time with R & K Supply and later at Knox Supply with her entire family.

Mrs. Knox was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church and the women’s auxiliary for the Arab Shrine, both of Topeka.

She married Rollie A. Knox Jr. Feb. 1, 1951, in Topeka. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1998.

Survivors include five children, Michael Berry, Marla Marlow, Darren Knox, Jacalyn Knox, all of Topeka, and Rollie “Alan” Knox, Santa Clara, Utah; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Jean Paul, Marvin Ferrell, and Kenneth Ferrell.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Ferrell.

A funeral ceremony was held June 25 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, Topeka. Interment was at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka.
