Prairie Appreciation Day June 16 in Jackson County

The Grassland Heritage Foundation will host its fourth annual Prairie Appreciation Day at Snyder Prairie in Jackson County Saturday, June 16.

Activities will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The prairie is located at 158th and U Road near Mayetta.

The day will feature a walk led by board member Frank Norman, hands-on activities, lunch, and an opportunity to help with some of the prairie restoration activities.

This is an opportunity to see the 140-acre native and restored prairie and learn about many of its native plant and animal species.
