Jefferson County North yearbook staff celebrates a decade of national recognition

For the 10th consectutive year, the Jefferson County North High School yearbook staff has been recognized for excellence at the national level.

The 2010-11 JCN High School yearbook titled, “GREENdefined,” was named a national semifinalist for Yearbook Yearbook, the publication that honors outstanding yearbook achievement, and the staff was awarded an Honorable Mention Award by Balfour Yearbooks.

“Good yearbooks capture the history of the year in words and pictures. To be recognized by Balfour in Yearbook Yearbook, your book isn’t just good, it’s great. It was magical when the book came out, and it will retain its magic 50 years from now. Your staff’s commitment to creating a yearbook that is both meaningful and memorable has made it one of the best in the nation,” Judi Collidge, education specialist said.

Yearbooks published by Balfour for the 2011 school year were evaluated in one or more of the following areas: theme development, layout design, photo content, secondary packages, and cover design. For their outstanding yearbook achievement, Balfour recognizes approximately 15 percent of yearbook staffs in Yearbook Yearbook.

In addition to the staff award, Lauren Ballinger and Brooke Bengel were recognized as top editors. Contributing staff members included Cindy Clark, Margaret (Allie) Courter, Allison Gaspard, Jeff Hale, Katelyn Higgins, Kelsey Hubbard, Dalton Minor, Katie Noll, Teresa Noll, Katie Parkey, Hailey Sayer, Jacob Schrick, Abigail Stephan, Micah Stutz, and Elizabeth Wolfe. The adviser is Cindy Johnson.
