New technology in the form of ebook service will be the topic of a June 20 program at the Nortonville Public Library.

“Dream Big—READ” will be the theme for the summer reading program. Special children’s events will be held each Friday, teen events on Thursdays, and children’s crafts on Wednesdays.

The sign up for reading prizes began May 26. For every five books or 500 pages young people read, they get one entry into the grand prize drawing and pick one item from the prize case. Prizes change continuously and the case is always fully stocked.

Lap readers who have five books read to them will be able to choose one prize from the case to complete their program. The grand prize drawing will be held July 27.

Donations of books, videos, video games, craft items and board games are always needed for the summer.

Some events planned at the library include:

May 31, 3 p.m. Cake Pops Teen Program; June 6, 3 p.m. You Rock! Painted Rocks; June 7, 3 p.m. Project Runway, Zombie Edition; June 13, 3 p.m. Eraser Art; June 14, 3-5 p.m. Personal Protection for Teens. Clay McHardie from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department provides tips on staying safe. This is a two-hour event.
