Bonnie R. Barnett, 83, Bonner Springs, formerly of Linwood and Centerview, Mo., died June 15, 2012, at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Merriam.
She was born Sept. 22, 1928, at Kanona, the daughter of Ora Erl and Alta Maye Worley Barratt.
A 1946 graduate of Linwood High School, she was a homemaker and had served as a telephone operator for the Linwood Telephone Company.
She was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church.
She married James Hobart Barnett Sept. 15, 1948, at Linwood. He preceded her in death April 6, 2007.
She is survived by four sons, Ed Barnett, Seattle, Wash., Jerry Barnett, Bonner Springs, Tom Barnett, Nortonville, and Joe Barnett, Lawrence; three daughters, Larinda McConnaughey, Linwood, Patty Elmer, Eudora, and Toni Erickson, Lone Jack, Mo.; one brother, Arthur Lee Barratt, Boise Idaho; a sister, Alta Showalter, Bellevue, Idaho; 21 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Barnett, one great-granddaughter, Madilyn Coy Barnett, and two brothers, Junior Barratt and Tom Barratt.
Funeral services were June 20 at the Elm Grove Baptist Church, rural Bonner Springs. Burial was at Leavenworth V.A. National Cemetery.
