Anita Vail
Anita Leigh Vail, 57, Lawrence, died June 17, 2012, at her home.
She was born in Kansas City March 13, 1955, and graduated from Turner High School in 1973. She moved from Kansas City to rural Lawrence in 1984. She worked at Howard Pines Greenhouse and Garden Center for 25 years.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Michael L. Vail; her parents, Roger and W. Jean Heckman; four children, Kara M. Gourley, Amy E. Brown, Eric M. Vail and Nathan L. Vail; a brother, Kenneth Heckman; and 10 grandchildren.
Her sister, Teresa Burks, preceded her in death in 1997.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Tonganoxie Christian Church. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Private burial will follow in Uniontown Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to LMH Oncology Center and sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, 604 E. 4th Street, Tonganoxie, 66086.
