343 board vacancy to be filled in July
Beth Kelley is moving from the Perry-Lecompton school district and has resigned her position on the board of education.
Kelley was an announced write-in candidate in 2009 for Position No. 6.
The USD 343 board passed a resolution to fill the vacancy at the June 11 meeting and will hold a special board meeting Wednesday, July 18, to interview candidates to fill the vacancy. The term will expire June 30, 2013.
Anyone interested in being a candidate should contact the administration office.
In other business, the board approved an early retirement request from Superintendent Denis Yoder. He will leave his position for two months beginning July 1 as required under the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System and then return under contract Aug. 31.
The interim superintendent for those two months will be Judy Chamberlain.
