He was born March 1, 1952, at Manhattan, the son of Robert D. and Joan Roggenkamp O’Shea. He was a 1970 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, criminology and sociology from Kansas State University in 1975.

He worked as an inspector and as a correctional officer for the Department of Corrections of Johnson County for many years. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Catholic Charities, both in Olathe. He was a member of the KSU Catbacker’s club.

He is survived by a son, Connor T. O’Shea, Cambridge, Mass.; a daughter, Mary Catherine O’Shea, Gladstone, Mo.; his parents, Robert and Joan O’Shea, Oskaloosa; two sisters, Marlene O’Shea, Topeka, and Diane Siegler, Fayetteville, Ark.; and a brother, Tim O’Shea, Topeka.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated May 12 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Perry. Inurnment will be at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Blaine.

Memorials can be made to the St. Theresa Church building fund and sent in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, 66066.
