FSA signup deadlines fast approaching
Adrian J. Polansky, state executive director for USDA’s Farm Service Agency in Kansas, reminds producers that program deadlines are approaching.
Producers must report acreages of all small grain crops to FSA by May 31.
The 2012 Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program and Average Crop Revenue Election provide income support when there is a decline in commodity prices. Program enrollment ends June 1. All producers receiving a share greater than zero on the DCP or ACRE contract must sign the contract no later than June 1.
Due to budget constraints, FSA can no longer mail regular newsletters. Producers are encouraged to provide their email address to the local FSA office to receive monthly newsletters and other bulletins by email.
USDA offices will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
