Harry Hamm

Harry “Keith” Hamm, 85, Perry, died April 17, 2012, at the Linnwood Care home in Meriden after a long illness.

He was born Dec. 1, 1926, at Williamstown, the son of Glenn Louis and Nellie Elizabeth Brown Hamm.

A lifelong resident of the Perry area, he was a 1945 graduate of Perry Rural High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Perry United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post No. 142 in Perry.

He worked and served as maintenance superintendent for the Hamm’s Company in Perry, retiring in 1982 after 40 years.

He married Virginia Irene Hunter June 28, 1947, at Perry. She survives at the home.

He is also survived by three daughters, Janis D. Pearson, Williamstown, Jo A. Guletsky, Portland, Ore., and Jeanette K. Elliott, Lawrence; one sister, Glenna Nell Dick, Overland Park; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Julie Lynn Thornton, and an infant daughter, two sisters, Norma J. Damp and Una Jean O’Gara, and a brother, George Glenn Hamm.

Memorial services were April 21 at the Perry United Methodist Church. Private family burial with Legion Military honors will be at Underwood Cemetery, Williamstown.
