Gertie Newman
Gertie Mae Newman, 94, LaVergne, Tenn., died April 2, 2012.
She was born in Rogersville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Luther Haraway and Rego Williams, and a granddaughter, Kelly Haraway Drinkard.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Newman; daughters, Patricia Vinson and Betty Mings; sons, Bobby Haraway and Tommy Haraway; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Pratt and Verta Miller.
Ernest Newman lived with his family in Valley Falls for many years before he moved to Nashville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Newman were April 5 at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, Nashville. Interment was at Harvey Cemetery, Rogersville, Ala.
