Theodore Lentz

Theodore Charles Lentz, 84, Valley Falls, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at a care facility in Horton.

He was born on Jan. 6, 1928, at Atchison, the son of Theodore Harold and Rosa Pearl Van Horn Lentz. He attended Atchison High School.

Theodore was a dairyman and a farmer northeast of Valley Falls. He was a member and former trustee of the Coal Creek United Methodist Church. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Japan after WW II.

He married Ruth LaVerne Brown on April 3, 1960, at Mercier, KS. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Eugene Lentz.

Survivors include his wife Ruth, of the home; his son Jerry (Annie) Lentz, Valley Falls; his daughter, Cheryl (Mitch) Hawkins, Scranton; his sister, Ethel (Clarence) Oswald, Effingham; and five grandchildren.

The funeral service was at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at the Coal Creek United Methodist Church. Burial was at the Coal Creek Cemetery.
