Elizabeth Sprague

Elizabeth Pearl Sprague, 84, Winchester, formerly of Vesper and Lincoln, died March 2, 2012.

She was born in Milo to Abraham and Emily King. She was reared in Barnard along with 13 brothers and sisters. Nine of them preceded her in death and one sister, Lillian Jones of Pennsylvania, and two brothers, Bill of Colorado and Don of Florida, survive.

Graduating from Barnard High School, she received her teaching certificate from Fort Hays State College. She then taught in Vesper.

She married Freddy C. Sprague in 1947 and two daughters and one son were born to this union. Her husband and son, Vincent, preceded her in death.

The couple farmed in the Vesper area until his death in 1977.

She worked at the Lincoln County Health Department and was a active in the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Anita Dreiling, Lawrence, and Susan Feldkamp, Winchester; five grandchildren, including Mitchel Feldkamp, Winchester; and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life wll be held at a later date in Lincoln. Memorials can be given to the Lincoln Senior Center, 122 W. Lincoln, Lincoln, 67455 or to the United Methodist Church in Winchester.
