Carolyn “Sue” Allen, 65, Oskaloosa, died Feb. 15, 2012, at her home in Oskaloosa.

She was born Feb. 25, 1946, at Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Glenn Lee and Ulav “Sally” Hughes Johnson. Living in Oskaloosa since 1962, she worked as a custodian for the Jefferson County Health Department and the Jefferson County S.R.S., both in Oskaloosa. She then worked and served as manager for Scotch Cleaners in Lawrence for 30 years before being medically disabled.
She was a 1964 graduate of Park Hill High School in North Kansas City.
She married Georg James Allen Jr., July 6, 1962, at Platte City, Mo. He preceded her in death June 25, 2003.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas J. Allen, Oskaloosa, and Rob L. Allen, Ozawkie; one daughter, Shelia L. Johnson, Lawrence; one brother, Eugene Johnson, Olean, Mo.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
National Cemetery Services were Feb. 21 at the Leavenworth V.A. National Cemetery.
