The following accidents were recently reported:
Jan. 4, 2:20 p.m.: James T. Reynolds, 92, Nortonville, was traveling eastbound on K-16 Highway near Osage Road when sun got into Reynolds’ eyes causing him to drive off the road and hit a curve sign, go across 158th Street, then across Osage Road and into a field.
Jan. 4, 4:55 p.m.: Alice Henning, 44, Nortonville, was at a stop sign on Elm Road waiting to make a turn. A vehicle driven by Lucas Tam, 18, Chicago, Ill., turned left too short and sideswiped Henning’s vehicle.
Jan. 8, 10:25 a.m.: Mariah D. Whiteaker, 19, Denison, was traveling south on Meriden Road near 122nd Street and hit some loose gravel and lost control of the vehicle and went into a ditch.
Jan. 11, 6:55 a.m.: Timothy W. Borchers, 43, Topeka, was waiting to make a turn on K-4 Highway near 74th Street when a vehicle driven by Adrian L. Burleson, 27, Meriden, tried to avoid hitting Borchers’ vehicle but sideswiped the vehicle.
Jan. 11, 7:25 p.m.: Eric W. Miller, 36, Valley Falls, was traveling westbound on U.S. 24 Highway near Phillips Road when he lost control of the vehicle on snow and ice and crashed the vehicle on its side in the ditch.
Jan. 13, 10:36 p.m.: Austin C. Trowbridge, 17, Oskaloosa, was traveling northbound on K-92 Highway and slowing to turn onto Nemaha Road. Jordan R. Coates, 15, Ozawkie, was traveling behind Trowbridge and tried to avoid hitting Trowbridge’s vehicle. Coates’ vehicle left the roadway.
