Thomas Farrell
Thomas “Mike” Farrell, 83, died Dec. 20, 2011.
He was born Oct. 1, 1928, in Effingham, to Jack and Hazel Cormode Farrell. He graduated from Effingham High School.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1946.
He married Grace Baugh in 1951. She died of cancer in 1989. He married Shirley Yingling Crawford in 1990. She survives.
He worked for Vincent Roofing Co. for 37 years and retired in 1988.
Other survivors include stepchildren Belinda Crawford, Topeka, Dorwin Crawford, Grantville, Gary Crawford, Oskaloosa, and Rebecca Joines, West Virginia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Farrell; and sister, Dorthy Farrell.
Graveside services were Dec. 23 at Grantville Cemetery.

Penwell-Gabel Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
