Jackie Annis

Jackie “Jack” Jean Annis, 70, Perry, died Dec. 19, 2011, at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

He was born in Guthrie, Okla., Feb. 8, 1941, the son of Thomas Newton and Verna May Sumner Annis.

He worked for Hamm’s Companies in Perry, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Topeka, as a janitor, Goodyear of Akron, Ohio, for three years, and Goodyear of Denver for 10 years. He also worked as a tire dealer for Brad Regan Inc., retiring in 2001.

He was a member of the Perry United Methodist Church, a member and past master of the Perry Masonic Lodge No. 415 AF&AM.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963.

He married Willa Nadine Vanattan May 22, 1964, in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include one son, Curtis Annis, Perry; a daughter, Theresa Jernberg, Perry; three brothers, Michael Annis, Lawrence, Chuck Annis, Topeka, and Richard Annis, Perry; two sisters, Iva L. Jorgenson, Lecompton, and Mary Jane Easum, Topeka; five grandchildren; and two great-randchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at the Perry United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Barnett Family Funeral Home, 1220 Walnut (Hwy59) in Oskaloosa, where he will lie in state at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Thursday.

Memorial donations can be made to the American Lung Association or the Perry United Methodist Church Women and sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 602, Oskaloosa, 66066.
