Deann Behring

Deann Marie Behring, 48, Meriden, died at her home Oct. 30, 2011.

She was born June 12, 1963, at Ames, Iowa, to Darrell and Mary Hammond.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Karl Behring; daughters Nichole Bradley, Ozawkie, Kristy Coker, Valley Falls, and Melissa Behring and Amy Waters, both Topeka; a son, Nathan Jerdee, Topeka; her parents, of Meriden; a brother, Darrell Hammond Jr., Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Lori Hammond, Meriden; and six grandchildren.

She worked as a cosmetologist while earning a bachelor’s degree from Washburn University and a master’s degree from Kansas University.

She was employed by Jefferson County Health Department and Hospice and Grace Hospice.

A celebration of life is scheduled from noon to 3:30 p.m. Nov 19 at Cornerstone Community Church, 7620 SW 21st Street, Topeka.

Memorials can be made to Grace Hospice, Topeka, or Jefferson County Hospice, Oskaloosa.
