The following accidents were recently reported:

Oct. 9, 8:30 p.m.: Debra K. Dixon, 53, Oskaloosa, was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Walnut and Jefferson streets when her vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by James A. Gray, 40, Lawrence, who allegedly left the scene.

Oct. 13, 2:20 p.m.: Scott Hart, 53, Meriden, was traveling on 58th Street near Creek Drive when his vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a cable box. The vehicle then crossed the road on the left side and struck a phone company box and then crossed the road again and struck a tree on the right side of the road.

Oct. 19, 10:50 a.m.: Jody K. Mitts, 55, Perry, was traveling on U.S. 59 Highway near 27th Street when her vehicle struck an embankment, went airborne and came to a rest on the south side of a utility driveway.

Oct. 26, 2:59 p.m.: Cynthia S. Williams, 52, McLouth, was backing out of a parking stall in the parking lot of Lakeside Village when her vehicle struck an unoccupied vehicle in the driver’s side rear door. The vehicle is owned by Judy L. Clare, Ozawkie.

Oct. 27, 5:20 p.m.: Rosemarie Doyle, 54, Topeka, was traveling on K-4 Highway and had stopped to make a left hand turn onto 39th Street. A vehicle driven by Nicole R. Sloup, 39, Topeka, was traveling behind Doyle and had looked down to reach for a cell phone. When Sloup looked up it was too late and Sloup struck the rear of Doyle’s vehicle.

Oct. 29, 9:40 a.m.: Christie L. Gier, 38, Valley Falls, was traveling on K-4 Highway near 94th Street when a vehicle driven by Charles T. Jones, 52, Meriden, pulled out from 94th Street causing a collision with Gier’s vehicle.

Oct. 31, 7:55 p.m.: Abran Garcia, 20, Kansas City, was traveling west on K-16 Highway and did not stop at the intersection of U.S. 59 Highway. Garcia’s vehicle went through the intersection and went airborne over an embankment. The vehicle went through a barbed wire fence and came to rest in a pasture.

Nov. 2, 6:03 a.m.: Shawn D. Wheeler, 49, McLouth, was traveling on Wellman Road near 46th Street when he swerved to miss a deer and left the roadway and went into a ditch and through a fence hitting a large fence post.

Nov. 3, 4:45 a.m.: Ryker M. Morris, 20, Perry, was traveling on 110th Street near Nemaha Road when Morris fell asleep and left the roadway and through a fence belonging to Roger Miller.

Nov. 7, 6 p.m.: Michael F. Wessels, 50, Lamont, Iowa, was traveling east on U.S. 24 Highway near Barton Road and was trying to merge into the left lane and struck a vehicle driven by Bart W. Wickersham, 44, Topeka.

Nov. 9, 7 a.m.: Ruth Lentz, 51, Valley Falls, was traveling on K-4 Highway near 162nd Street when she lost control of her vehicle on an icy bridge and struck a vehicle driven by Janet Gatzemeyer, 35, Valley Falls.
