Area chamber plans lighting contest
Jefferson County Area Chamber of Commerce—Oskaloosa, McLouth, Perry—are preparing for the annual tree lighting and holiday celebration from 5 to 6 p.m. Dec. 4.
The tree lighting will be at 5:15 p.m. on the south side of the courthouse square with refreshments and music to follow at the Little Red Barn.
The Chamber is sponsoring a Holiday Kickoff drawing. Individuals can enter to win a $50 cash prize visiting member businesses to collect a signed coupon. Each coupon collected will be placed in the drawing held at the Little Red Barn.
Additional door prizes will also be available for those present.
The Chamber is also sponsoring a business lighting contest to be held the week of Dec. 11. Businesses are encouraged to decorate and leave the lights on that week until 8 p.m. so judging can take place. A winner in each town will be chosen and a picture of the business will be placed in the paper.
