JCN students assist with filmmaker’s project in Nebraska

Three students from Jefferson County North’s Theater Department were in Omaha, Neb., Sept. 17 to assist in a new project designed by filmmaker and photographers Marc Longbrake and Elizabeth Zellner called My Unstated.

Longbrake, director of the Omaha Film Festival, requested the JCN students to help with the project after getting to know them at the film festival last year and a workshop he presented at the high school.

JCN’s Director of Theater Jennifer Morgan-Beuchat ran the hospitality area while the JCN students ran registration and explained procedures and format to the project participants as they arrived.

The My Unstated photo shoot was an all-day event. The project, based on the concept of what people would really like to say to each other but feel they can’t, will feature still shots of individuals holding a piece of paper with their ‘unstated’ sentiments.

Jefferson County North students were also given the opportunity to be a part of the photo shoot and pick their own ‘unstated.’ Longbrake was the photographer with Zellner as concept editor, and Mike Machian, videographer. The project will be featured in an Omaha gallery and on their website.
