Irene Fairbanks

Irene V. Fairbanks, 88, Larkinburg, died Oct. 22, 2011, at the Golden Acres Nursing Center in Onaga.

She was born March 20, 1923, at Circleville, the daughter of Roger and Elizabeth Sheeley Neal. She graduated from Soldier High School in 1942.

She was a member of the Larkinburg Christian Church and a former member of the Ladies Aid at the church. She had worked as a teacher’s aid for a short time. She was also a seamstress.

She married Raymond K. Fairbanks Nov. 6, 1946, in Holton. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Randy Fairbanks and wife Tammy, Eureka Springs, Arkansas; a daughter, Kristi Springstead, Holton; a sister, Betty Jackson, Portland, Ore.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Cremation is planned. A memorial service was held Oct. 25 at the Larkinburg Christian Church. Burial will be at a later date in the Larkinburg Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Larkinburg Christian Church or the hospice of the donor’s choice and can be sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P. O. Box 1034, Holton, 66436.
