Greg Rockhold

Greg Dean Rockhold, 53, Oskaloosa, died at his home Oct. 15, 2011.

He was born Dec. 7, 1957, in Lawrence. He was a 1975 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and a graduate of Automotive Technical School in Wichita.

He worked for Houk’s Dairy driving trucks and Shugart’s Harvesting. He coached Oskaloosa Middle School boys’ basketball and worked as a groundskeeper for Oskaloosa schools and the city of Oskaloosa. He was an umpire for area baseball, football and college softball.

He was a member of the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church and was serving on the Oskaloosa City Council.

He married Kelley Ellen King Oct. 22, 1977, in Kansas City. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Jeremy Rockhold, Oskaloosa, and Kyle Rockhold, Lawrence; a daughter, Nicole Rockhold, a student at Pittsburg State University; five grandchildren; his mother, Shirley Rockhold Sawyer, Lawrence; three sisters, Nancy Helm and Angie Green, Baldwin City, and Candy Thompson, Ozawkie; and three brothers, Steve DeMott, Parkville, Mo., Mike DeMott, Illinois, and Scot DeMott, Lindsborg.

Services were at 10 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Burial was at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
