Freda Morgan

Freda Ilene Morgan, 90, Oskaloosa, died Sept. 22, 2011, at the F.W. Huston Senior Living Center, Winchester.

She was born April 9, 1921, in Sheridan County, the daughter of Albert and Theresa Boutz. She was the oldest of 13 children. She graduated from Decatur County High School in Oberlin in 1943.

She taught school in the rural area for a few years. She then moved to Kansas City where she worked at Folgers Coffee and National Bell of Hess. Later she worked in Atchison for the railroad. After retiring she worked at the Oskaloosa schools as a custodian. She moved to a farm near Oskaloosa where she resided until moving to the senior living center.

She married Carl Morgan in 1973. He preceded her in death in 1974.

She is survived by three sisters, Flora Edwards, Clarkson, Wash., Frances Mosier, Norton, and Doreen Boutz, Salina; and four brothers, Darrel Boutz, Manhattan, Everett Boutz, Jefferson City, Mo., Glen Boutz, Mulvane, and Homer Boutz, Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Doyle Boutz, Luther Boutz, and Leo Boutz, and two sisters, Leona Somers and Waneta Nilson.

A memorial service was held at 4:30 p.m. Sept.28 at the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Inurnment followed at Pleasant View Cemetery.
