The following accidents were recently reported:

Oct. 5, 10:45 a.m.:Melinda VanVelzer, 45, Nortonville, was pulling her vehicle out of a drop-off area at the Jefferson County North school in Nortonville when a vehicle driven by Becky Schrick, 52, Atchison, struck VanVelzer’s vehicle.

Oct. 18, 7:40 a.m.: Coreen L. Jury, 52, Ozawkie, was traveling south on Ferguson Road near Marion Road when her vehicle went left of center and left the roadway. The vehicle went off into a ditch, hit a curve sign and then rolled twice.

Oct. 18, 9:45 a.m.: Tyler Miller, 19, Valley Falls, was traveling on U.S. 59 Highway near 21st Street and was adjusting his radio when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

Oct. 18, 8 p.m.: Chester A. Wilks III, 42, Winchester, was traveling on the 14000 block of Saline Road when he struck a cow.

Oct. 20, 2:10 a.m.: Kyle L. Heuertz, 19, Ozawkie, was traveling south on Ferguson Road when Heuertz fell asleep and ran off the roadway near 114th Street.
