The following accidents were recently reported:

Sept. 3, 12:51 p.m.: Delia A. Heston, 47, Oskaloosa, was in westbound traffic on the 13900 block of K-92 Highway. A vehicle driven by Daryl Chess, 43, Oskaloosa, was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane with emergency lights on. Heston attempted to make a U-turn into the eastbound lane. Chess’s vehicle struck Heston’s vehicle on the driver’s side.

Sept. 10, 12:15 a.m.: Frank V. Smith, 37, Ozawkie, was riding an ATV south on Main Street near Glenwood Drive when he swerved to miss a puddle and lost control of the ATV flipping it several times.

Sept. 16, 12:46 p.m.: Lana J. Ellis, 45, Stilwell, was waiting on traffic at U.S. 24 Highway near Linn Road and was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Angela D. Segraves, 35, Lawrence.

Sept. 24, 5:35 a.m.: Eunice C. Flowers, 78, McLouth, was traveling on Wellman Road near 70th Street when a deer ran out in front of her vehicle. She swerved to miss the deer and went into the ditch and the vehicle rolled onto its top.

Sept. 26, 6:45 a.m.: Justin G. Cyr, 25, Topeka, was traveling northbound on K-4 Highway near Butler Road, when the steering column locked up and caused the vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic. The vehicle hit the ditch embankment and came to rest in a creek bed.

Oct. 1, 11:59 a.m.: Robert G. Mitchell III, 35, Leavenworth, was stopped at the stop sign facing southwest on Fairmount Road near K-16 Highway waiting to make a right-hand turn. A vehicle driven by Donny J. Sullivan, 61, McLouth, was traveling southwest on Fairmount Road and approaching the stop sign. Sullivan did not stop and rear-ended Mitchell.

Oct. 3, 2:15 a.m.: Roger L. Farley, 20, Perry, was westbound on Front Street, Perry, and was turning into a parking spot at Perry Bar and Grill. When Farley applied his brakes the bike slid on some gravel and Farley’s bike wrecked into a parked vehicle owned by Wilford Keever.

Oct. 5, 11:40 a.m.: Fred D. Sobering, 82, Oskaloosa, was involved in an accident with a vehicle owned by Roger Miller, Oskaloosa.

Oct. 5, 5:39 p.m.: Talette D. Ford, 47, Tonganoxie, was traveling north on Wildhorse Road near 62nd Street. Ford came around a corner and a minivan was in Ford’s lane. Ford swerved and slid into the ditch. The minivan slid into the ditch but kept going.

The following drivers recently struck wildlife on county roadways:
