Charles Crumet

Charles A. Crumet, 81, Oskaloosa, died Oct. 8, 2011, at his home.

He was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Lawrence, the son of Edward W. and Minnie M. Skinner Crumet.

Charles A. CrumetHe attended McAlister grade school and graduated from Lawrence Memorial High School. He attended Bethany College in Lindsborg.

He worked as a Pipefitter for Local Union No. 533 for 42 years before retiring in 1992.

He married Juanita Beard April 29, 1950, in Lawrence. She survives of the home. They have been married for 61 years.

Other survivors include two sons, Charles W. Crumet, and partner, H.R. Malinowsky, Berwyn, Ill., and Michael L. Crumet, and wife, Lucy, Lawrence; and one sister, Ester Gulley, Lawrence.

Graveside services were held Oct. 13 at Hardy Oak Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Memorial contributions can be made to Jefferson County Humane Society or the charity of the donor’s choice and sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
