Sign being prepared for pioneer cemetery
Plans are being made to provide an entrance sign for the pioneer cemetery on the west edge of Valley Falls.
Mary Jane Burns, a Delaware Township board member, reports that Joe Heinen, who has been mowing the cemetery, attended the last board meeting to discuss the sign.
The board gave Heinen the OK to employ Vicki and Pat Langton, Perry, to make the sign. It was indicated the Langtons were donating much of their labor for the project.
Burns noted that a lot of work has been done over the past couple of years to care for the area. The board has expressed gratitude to the Knights of Columbus, high school students, Heinen, Bill Klenklen, Earl Stevens, and the late Tom Abramovitz for the work that has been done to restore the cemetery.
