Marjorie Marts

Marjorie “Margie” Marts, 85, died Aug. 23, 2011, at her home in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.

She was born Aug. 5, 1926, near Ozawkie, the fourth of 10 children born to Walter Amasa and Lulu Ellen Wendorff Turner.

She was a 1943 graduate of McLouth High School.

She married John Clarence Boudreaux, who died Sept. 3, 1950, and Dr. Reed E. Marts, who preceded her in death March 16, 2001.

Survivors include four daughters, Ellen Morse, Perryville, Mo., Karen McConnaughey, Chapala, Mexico, Reeda Buresh, Davenport, Iowa, and Rhonda Marts-Newton, Ste. Genevieve; a son, Walter Marts, St. Louis, Mo.; four sisters, Thelma Boudreaux, Napoleanville, La., Vesta Kaufmann Hillsboro, Ore., Wanda Harker, McLouth, and Myrna Ellsworth, Frazer, Colo.; two brothers, Howard Turner, Kansas City, Mo., and Orin Turner, Ozawkie; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael W. Marts and Thomas L. Marts; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; and three sisters, Arlene Jensen, Guila Stroope, and Wilma Watson.

Burial was in Crestlawn Cemetery, Ste. Genevieve, following a service at Wood Family Funeral Home.
