Kaws cross country compete at invitational
The Perry-Lecompton cross country teams travelled to Topeka to compete at the Jefferson West Invitational Sept. 6 that was held at the Shawnee County North Community Center.
In the girls’ division, sophomore Lauren Jamison lead the team with a 16th place finish and a time of 18:51. Additional team results included Madison Hess at 31st (20:10), Shannon Foster at 38th (20:38), and Melissa Schmidt at 41st (21:10).
In the boys’ division, senior Travis Bohannan lead the team with a 47th place finish and a time of 21:59. Additional team results included Wyatt Schumann at 51st (22:11), Austin Clark at 53rd (22:32), and Zach Hawkins (32:28).
In the 7th grade one-mile race, Isaac Hendrickson placed 26th with a time of 7:07. In the 8th grade 1.5 mile race, Keeran Jones and Jamie Messler both placed 17th with times of 14:27 and 14:10, respectfully.
