Dragon cross country team runs at 2 meets

The Valley Falls Dragon cross country team competed in the Jefferson West Invitational Sept. 6.

For the boys, Hunter Hosler placed 15th and earned a medal. Elijah Phillips was 52nd, Hunter Sherretts, 65th, Ryan Wistuba, 73rd, Casey Lederer, 77th, Eric Reichart, 98th, Chris Willhoite, 109th, and Jakob Willits, 111th.

For the girls, Katie Wunder placed 42nd, Amanda Sales was 44th, Emily Nottingham, 57th, and Anna Coleman, 72nd. Amanda improved on her career best time by almost three minutes.

The Dragons competed at Effingham Sept. 8 where Hunter Hosler led the boys with a 6th place medal.

Elijah Phillips earned his first varsity medal while finishing 22nd. Hunter Sherretts was only one spot out of the medals, finishing 26th. Ryan Wistuba was 37th and Casey Lederer was 38th. Eric Reichart, Chris Willhoite and Jakob Willits all improved on their season best times. Chris improved the most, cutting almost three minutes off his time.

For the girls, Katie Wunder earned her first varsity medal, placing 25th. Amanda Sales was 29th and Emily Nottingham finished 35th. Anna Coleman was injured. The Dragons run at McLouth Thursday.
