Betty Perry

Betty M. Perry, Winchester, 77, died at her home Sept. 11, 2011.

She was born Dec. 22, 1933, the daughter of Lee and Sadie Robertson. She graduated from Winchester Rural High School in 1951.

She worked at Barnhardt Insurance Agency, Leavenworth, Wicks Lumber, Lawrence, Topeka Lumber, and Jefferson County Memorial Hospital, Winchester.

She volunteered many hours doing arts and crafts at the Winchester Geriatric Center and Hickory Pointe Nursing Home, Oskaloosa.

She married William “Ray” Perry Sr. Sept. 1, 1951. He preceded her in death March 22, 2006.

Survivors include her three children, Debra Smith, Edwardsville, Brenda Dennis, Tecumseh, and J.R. Perry, Winchester; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Lockhart, Fresno, Calif., and Patricia Warbritton, Concrete, Wash.; and four brothers, John and Mick, Winchester, Jack, Olympia, Wash., and Ray, Pottsboro, Texas.

She was preceded in death by two siblings, Helen Woodward, Leavenworth, and Jimmy Robertson, Winchester, and two grandchildren, Aiden Wood and Mary Dennis.

A graveside inurnment service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Winchester Wise Cemetery.
