Open house will honor Jim Marietta

An open house Aug. 31 at the Jefferson County Conservation District office will be held to honor Jim Marietta, district conservationist, who is retiring after 28 years.

The open house will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. in the USDA office on the west edge of Oskaloosa.

Marietta is the district conservationist for Jefferson and Leavenworth counties for the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Area producers who have had the privilege of working with Marietta during his career are invited to attend.

Cards and letters can be sent to the NRCS office at 700 Jefferson, Suite B, Oskaloosa, 66066.

Producers can also meet the staff and learn about the farm programs.

Refreshments will be served.
