Dr. Kevin Kuenzi

Kevin D. Kuenzi, DVM, 49, Perry, died July 28, 2011, at his home in Perry.

He was born Aug. 20, 1961, at Topeka, the son of Charles “Chuck” Fredrick and Joyce Elaine Strahm Kuenzi.

He was a 1979 graduate of Bern High School and earned a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1988 from Kansas State University.

He owned and operated Dr. Kevin’s Veterinary Clinic in Perry and Oskaloosa for many years. As an inventor, he is the holder of four U.S. patents.

He married Shari Renee Clark May 19, 1984, at Manhattan. She survives at the home.

He is also survived by four sons, Ian Kuenzi, Topeka, Asa Kuenzi, Max Kuenzi, and Sam Kuenzi, all of Perry; one daughter, Emily Kuenzi, Tescott; his mother and stepfather, Joyce E. and Dale Dorsch, Bern; a brother, John Kuenzi, Bern; two sisters, Lynette Strathman, Bern, and Dena Schmitz, Westmoreland.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were Aug. 2 at the Perry American Legion building in Perry. Burial was at the Bern Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Dr. Kevin D. Kuenzi Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date and sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa, 66066.
