Rose E. Balao, 85, McLouth, KS, passed away at Indian Creek Nursing Center, Overland Park, KS, Tuesday, July 12, 2011.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial was in McLouth Cemetery.
Rose was born April 3, 1926 in McLouth, the daughter of Cornelius and Hazel (Garrett) Van Druff.
Rose worked in the business office at the University of Kansas Medical Center and was a member of the Jefferson County and Kansas State Historical Societies.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances Borin, Mission Hills, KS; two sisters, Clarice Dick, Perry, KS, Vera Annis, Phoenix, AZ; and 3 grandchildren, Brendan Borin, San Diego, CA; Colin Borin, Kansas City, MO; and Alison Borin, Mission, KS.
