JoAnn Monhollon

JoAnn Monhollon, 77, Topeka, died June 17, 2011, at her home.

She was born May 17, 1934, at Clarksburg, W.V., the daughter of Morley D. and Flossie D. Ramage Hall. She was reared at Mingo Junction, Ohio, and had lived in California before moving to Kansas in 1965.

JoAnn MonhollonShe had owned several small businesses before managing Plaza West Apartments, retiring in 2001. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and Meriden Chapter No. 399, OES. She had served 13 years on the Private Industry Council, Shawnee County Agency on Aging, Jefferson West School Board for two terms, and Topeka Community Council.

She married Donald Eugene Monhollon May 13, 1960, in Garden Grove, Calif. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Tim, Ronnie, and Mark Monhollon; and a brother, Donald E. Hall.

Surviving are three sons, Steve Monhollon and Michael Monhollon, Topeka, and David Monhollon, Ozawkie; two daughters, Kathy Monhollon-Blacketer, Topeka, and Deanie Gory, Dover, Del.; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. June 22 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Interment was in Meriden Cemetery.

Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, Topeka, was in charge of arrangements.
