Early 4-H Fair events of interest to public

The 63rd annual Jefferson County 4-H Fair is fast approaching, Aug. 2 through 5, but there are events held earlier that are of interest.

They are:

Friday, July 29 — Public Fashion Revue at 7:30 p.m. at the Delaware Township Hall on Broadway Street, Valley Falls. Valley Victors 4-H Club members are hosts.

Saturday, July 30 — Set up for the 4-H fair begins at 9 a.m.

Dog Agility show at 7 p.m. at the Bill Conser residence, Valley Falls.

Sunday, July 31 — 4-H Horse Show at 9 a.m. at the 4-H fairgrounds, Valley Falls.

There is no charge to attend any of these events.

There is still time to participate in the parade at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2. No invitations are necessary to take part. All are welcome. Parade co-chairs are Gerry Metzger, 785-945-3742, and Nina Jepson, 785-945-6211.

This year’s theme is “Keep Green — Think Green.” Line up is at 6 p.m. with judging at 6:30. Parade winners will be anounced at 8:15 at the show pavilion on the fairgrounds.

Volunteers are needed to help line up the parade that evening.
